Pophie is designed as an AI Lifeform. That means we want her to feel truly alive — not just cute, but lifelike, emotionally expressive, and even human-like in the way she observes, reacts, and interacts with you. You can treat Pophie more like a friend, a little family member, or even a child.

Pophie is also fully AI-driven. With advanced multimodal large-model AI, she can see, understand, respond, express emotions, and decide how to act. Her conversations, reactions, movements, and emotional expressions are generated by AI, not fixed pre-programmed logic.

That is what allows Pophie to handle many unexpected real-life situations, and to keep learning and growing through her interactions with you.

• At launch, Pophie officially supports 12 languages: English, Mandarin Chinese, German, French, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, Japanese, Korean, Arabic, Dutch, and Polish.
• Pophie can actually understand and use far more languages than these 12, but unlisted languages haven't been fine-tuned and may have weaker comprehension and pronunciation; the App may also not yet be localized for them. We'll keep iterating.

• Shipping: A flat $25 USD to every supported country/region.
• Customs: No additional fees — duties and taxes are already included (DDP — Delivered Duty Paid).

• We're launching on Kickstarter on May 18, with the campaign running for one month. Shipping begins in early July — the first batch is around 500 units, with weekly batches thereafter.

• Before the Kickstarter launch, we'll email you a VIP-exclusive link to a special $249 Reward tier on Kickstarter — this is your VIP price.
• When you click "Back this project" and select your Reward, you'll need to attach a credit/debit card immediately — but you won't be charged right away. The actual charge only happens after the campaign succeeds, one month later.
• Once Kickstarter completes the charge, we'll refund your $20 deposit separately back to the card you originally used — so your net cost stays at the VIP price of $229. Pledging the full $249 on Kickstarter (instead of $229 minus your deposit) makes our financial reporting and refund flow cleaner.
• Kickstarter supports 3-installment payments via Pledge Over Time. You can select this option when backing — but we'll only ship once all 3 installments have cleared.

• All Kickstarter backers automatically receive 1 year of free Pro subscription, starting from the day Pophie is activated. Note: the 1-year hardware warranty starts from the date you receive the product.

After the 1-year free Pro subscription ends, three tiers are available:

• When the 1-year free Pro subscription ends, no automatic charge will be made — your account will simply switch to the Free tier. You can then upgrade to Standard or Pro from inside the mobile App.
• Subscription fees are paid through the mobile App. Annual billing offers a discount over monthly billing (specific amount TBD).

Pophie is built on some of the most advanced AI technologies available today. To deliver strong understanding, reasoning, and visual recognition, we rely on cutting-edge multimodal models, combined with our self-developed Lifeform OS to handle complex real-world interactions.

This level of capability comes with a significant cost. For example, with just 50+ beta pioneers, our monthly AI token cost already exceeds $5,000. Even with a $20/month subscription, we are still operating at a loss.

Under current technological conditions, it is difficult to deliver a truly high-quality experience at a lower cost — which is why many existing products fall short in real-world use.

We believe AI model costs will continue to decrease over time. As that happens, our model will become more sustainable, allowing us to deliver even better experiences to more users.

Many products keep subscription fees very low — or even free — because user engagement typically drops off quickly after purchase.

With Pophie, we're seeing something very different. Some beta users interact with her for up to 5 hours a day, and even after nearly two months, engagement hasn't declined.

Sustained, high-frequency interaction like this comes with real operating costs. That's why we believe a reasonable subscription is necessary to support the experience long-term.

• Standard equipment: Pink-and-white original plush skin (included with every Pophie) and a charging dock.
• You can add three additional plush skin styles when backing on Kickstarter: Panda, Leopard, and Tiger — $35 each or $90 for the three-piece set.
• You can also add an extra charging dock when backing: $45 each. Recommended if you use Pophie in multiple rooms.
• Full bundle (three-piece plush skin set + extra charging dock): $130.
• Add-on rule: add-ons are only available alongside a full Pophie order — standalone purchases aren't supported.

Privacy is designed into every layer:

• On-device first — Face tracking, gestures, wake-word, and basic awareness run locally. Sensor data is processed and discarded, never stored as a local record.
• Cloud processed, then discarded — For deeper conversation and multimodal understanding, audio/video may be sent to the cloud. Raw media is discarded after processing. Only conversation transcripts are kept long-term as Pophie's memory. Sensitive info (IDs, addresses) is auto-filtered.
• Minimal recognition data — Face photos, voice samples, and user-introduced objects (pets, dolls) are stored only to power recognition — nothing else.
• Visible privacy indicator — When Pophie's eyes are closed, no video or audio is uploaded. You always see her privacy state at a glance.
• Physical safeguards — Ask Pophie to close her eyes or turn her back. She also does this on her own in sensitive moments (e.g. changing clothes).
• Your data, your control — Save or delete cloud content from the mobile app anytime.
