Exploring emotional AI, companion robotics, and the philosophy behind creating technology that truly feels alive.
Our first Kickstarter finished at US$439,275 from 1,168 backers in 56 countries and regions. The official wrap-up: the results, the capabilities, specs and pricing the campaign made official, and a few numbers we keep thinking about.
What is an AI lifeform? An AI companion human-like in every way but appearance — living instincts, real emotions, a memory that grows to know you. And the first one built: Pophie.
Loona is a robot pet that roams your home and plays chase. Pophie stays on your desk, seeing, understanding, and talking with you. An honest 2026 comparison of who each is for.
AIBI is a $249 pocket AI pet you clip to your clothes. Pophie is an AI lifeform who sees your world, understands it, and acts on her own. An honest 2026 comparison of the two.
LOVOT is the most lifelike companion robot money can buy — and its memory of you rides on a monthly fee. Pophie bets differently at US$399. An honest 2026 comparison.
Pophie and Ropet look almost identical — same plush, dual LCD eyes, a gentle body warmth. But one is warm to hold and the other sees and understands your world. An honest 2026 comparison.
An honest, up-to-date comparison of the best AI companion robots for adults in 2026 — Ropet, LOVOT, Moflin, Sony aibo, Loona, AIBI and more. What each does best, what they cost, which lock features behind a subscription, and how to choose.
How does Pophie understand your feelings? An inside look at the VAD emotion engine — the 3D emotion space that lets an AI companion read and respond to how you really feel.
Why is Pophie fuzzy, warm, and has no buttons? The design philosophy — texture, warmth, eyes, and motion — that makes an AI feel less like a device and more like a living presence.
Most AI waits for a wake word. Pophie watches, listens, and acts on her own. Learn how proactive AI sensing works and why it changes everything about human-AI interaction.
How does Pophie compare to Eilik, Loona, EMO, and AIBI? An honest 2026 comparison of desktop AI companions — features, design, intelligence, and why Pophie isn't quite one of them.
